Founded in 1961, the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Baden-Württemberg. It has 200 partner universities worldwide. About 8500 national and international students are currently enrolled at the university. Students study in one of the 3 specialisations offered at the university; engineering, business and information technology.

Heilbronn is located in the Heilbronn-Franken region – very well known for its strong and growing economy. Many world market leaders and successful medium-sized companies are based here.

The application deadline is 1st May for the winter semester and 1st Nov for the summer semester. The application and the supporting documents can only be sent via post and not online.

Submit printed application
Submit your application in paper form at the Heilbronn University. Application must be submitted not later than the application deadline.

The application for the winter semester starts from May and ends on 15 July while the the application for summer semester starts from November and ends on 15 January.

Some programmes are only available during the winter semester.

Accept the offer on the platform
The result of your application will be announced in August or February online at hochschulstart.de platform. If you would like to accept the offer, you will have to do so on the platform.

The university will send the admission document to you. Once you have received the document, you have 10 days to enrol online or personally after your arrive in Heilbronn university.

I chose Heilbronn because Heilbronn university provides the study programme on process and environmental engineering. All professors are very dedicated, responsible and wise. They can explain to students very well. Some professors will do a lot of exercises in class which helped a lot for the exams. Some professors has also experiences in the industries.

I chose Hochschule Heilbronn because I wanted to study environmental-related engineering. Studying process engineering with specialisation in energy research in Heilbronn is the decision I do not regret because the broad subjects in process engineering have prepared me well for my further studies at postgraduate levels.

Coming to Germany to start undergraduate studies in the German language was very challenging at the beginning. I could only make it through my undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the German language because of the tremendous support and help received from many professors and tutors at the University of Heilbronn. My Professor had arranged different tutors for us in difficult subjects such as control engineering (Regelungstechnik) and material science (Werkstoffkunde). I am forever grateful to the training I have received in Heilbronn.

I am currently studying battery research at the PhD level in the UK. I intend to continue with the research in the field of energy storage after completing the PhD.
